Momentum

I. Curiosity and momentum

The best work I've done was as an intern.

Not because I had no chip on my shoulder. Because of curiosity and momentum. Two things nobody teaches you to value until they're gone.

Karan, the founder, had one rule: learn. Pick what interests you. Apply it. Own what happens next. So I did. I picked up strategy, positioning, storytelling. None of it had fancy names yet. It was just work that made sense to me. And it moved things.

II. The run

I carried that momentum into real estate.

At 23, I was positioning ₹100 Cr projects. Defining ICPs before I knew the acronym. Mapping competitors by instinct. Arming sales teams with narratives that actually closed. Launches, numbers, leadership, exposure. I was running and the road felt right.

Then the road flattened.

III. Writing's bastard child

Personally, it was a low point. I carried that weight straight into advertising. Three years working for writing's bastard child.

On paper, I grew. Worked with brilliant people. Learned from peers, juniors, seniors alike. Built a portfolio I'm not ashamed of.

But I never felt at home. Not once.

Three years is a long time to spend somewhere you don't belong. The industry rewarded hype. I built a quiet loathing for PR-led advertising and the LinkedIn circus around it.

And somewhere in those three years, the momentum I walked in with started bleeding out.

IV. The mirror

Kabir wrote: "Bura jo dekhan mai chala, bura naa milya koi, jo mann dekha aapna, mujhse bura naa koye."

My close friends told me I whine too much. Fair. I was angry at the cards dealt to me. But the self-loathing was worse than the cards. That pattern had to end. Not with a quote on my wall. With a system.

V. The reset

So I took a break. Went to South India. Financially stabilized myself. Went home to remember who I was before the industry told me who to be.

Set S.M.A.R.T goals across everything. Fitness. Career trajectory. Entertainment. Interests. Personal milestones.

Fixed anchors. 93 days in. 9 kg down. Built myself a constitution for the next 5 years of my life. Quit a few bad ones. Adopted a few good ones. The journey has only just begun. Once again.

VI. Product marketing

And somewhere in the middle of stripping things down, I found what I actually want. Product marketing.

Because that's where it all comes together. Human intelligence, ideas, tools, frameworks. Systems. The thing I've been building since my internship without knowing its name.

I understand building from those early days with Karan. Ideas from advertising, even though it cost me. Frameworks from strategic marketing and now AI.

And this current phase? Pure curiosity. Researching like a child again. Documenting everything on my Notion workspace like someone possessed.

I've made an effort to articulate all of it. Every framework, every breakdown, every instinct mapped to a method. It's all there.

VII. Conviction

I know any team would be lucky to have me. I know the first 3 months will be tough despite that.

And I know that in 6 months, nobody will understand the brand, the product, and the direction better than me.

That's not arrogance. That's pattern recognition. I've done this before.

I might fall again. But I'll be here again. I've always been here again.

All I need is a product.

Do you have it?
